Be STRONG in the Lord and the power of His might.

Our family desire is to be like a lamp on a lampstand shining forth for Christ. We pray that we can be a witness to those who don't know the Lord and an encouragement and blessing to those who do. Thank you for visiting the Strong family blog.

where are the wedding photos?

My Dad rented golf carts to transport guests from the parking area down the driveway to the house.  As the rain was pouring down and as the guest arrived; it proved to be genius.  The boys didn't get to go for a ride until the next day.

Here is the chalk board guest book from the wedding.

Yep ... I didn't take any wedding photos.  The day was so busy and crazy.  My brother took a bunch of photos before the wedding and during the reception.  I'll try and get some of his pictures to post.  All the boys looked so adorable in their fedoras, TOMS, and ties.  Kyle was so handsome as was the entire rest of the family.  Elisa was stunning!!  God was so good.  It poured rain all afternoon and the rain stopped minutes before the ceremony.  As we were walking down the aisle there was a patch of blue sky.  During the vows the sun came out.  Everything was just perfect.

I took ONE video.  As you can tell we were rushed.

They look like Ranchers

Moves

The boys are showing me their moves.  They are adorned with lots of tiny stickers on their shirts.  Stickers are  one of their favorite things right now.  They love it when I make them sticker charts for accomplishments or chores.  I haven't made them for awhile and I think all the stickers will be gone before I do.  I have been finding them all over the house as they fall off throughout the day.  I also keep finding them in Miles mouth ... whoops.

Potty Trained!!

Evan is potty trained.  Whew!!!  He still wears a diaper for naps and overnight but during the day he is potty trained.  I still pack clothes every time we go somewhere just in case there is an accident, but for the most part he has it figured out.  We are still giving him a treat when he goes number two but that will be coming to an end before too long.  His treat of choice is gum.  He just learned how to chew gum without swallowing it and he is really proud of his new accomplishment.

Mother's Day

For Mother's Day I slept in (until 8:24 AM).  Kyle had recorded videos of the boys for me to enjoy.  Maddeck gave me the card and magnet that he made for me at school.  I got all teared up reading the card.  It is great to be a Mom.
Being a Mom is the hardest job.  It is a tough job because I am not working for praises, raises, promotions, bonuses, paid time off, benefits, etc.  Each day I wake up with a long list of chores, errands to run, meals to prepare, and dishes to do (usually from the night before).  I wake up to three boys ready for breakfast and diaper changes. I wake up with another opportunity to bring glory and praise to my God in the way that I raise and rear our children.  It is a daunting task that I fail at in large and small ways each and every day.  Thankfully for me, the Lord knows my flaws, knows my sin, and knows my shortcomings.  They come as no surprise to Him.  Thankfully for me, he also knows that I love Him and He has forgiven me for all of the mistakes I make (and will continue to make).  His grace covers it all.  I may not get praises, raises, promotions, bonuses, paid time off, and benefits like a normal job.  What I do get ... the sweet privilege and responsibility to care for our boys.  I get to be with them everyday, which means I don't miss any part of their life.  I love my boys so very much and find it hard to believe that the author of life and creator has entrusted Kyle and I with the task of raising Maddeck, Evan, and Miles.  I love my job.

10K

We did the Wenatchee Marathon 10K race together!  It was so fun to spend time with Amy and get a little exercise.  Next stop ... half marathon.  I don't have a desire to do a marathon at this point.  Read more about our visit with the Weedas here ... http://weedafamily.blogspot.com/2011/04/one-hour-twenty-three-minutes-and.html.  We got super cute white hooded sweatshirts at the end of the race.  It says Wenatchee Marathon all over it so we appear to be hard core runners now!  We happily walked the 10K.  It was a beautiful day and a perfect weekend with our friends that we see just twice a year.

San Fran Souvenirs

I went "all out" on my recent trip to San Francisco and got the kids In-N-Out hats as souvenirs.  Aren't they cuties?  I guess I should have brought them pants since they don't seem to have any.

TBall

Maddeck started Tball last week.  Here is a video of his first time at bat.  Since he was the last batter in the line up he automatically was able to run all the bases.  Kyle and our friend Jesse are coaching the team.  Go Tigers!! (the kids picked their mascot)

Shower

Maddeck: Are you a helper at my school today?
Me: No
Maddeck: Then why are you taking a shower?

Apparently, I only take a shower when I have somewhere to go.

Evan Sleeping

What do you do when you wake up from a nap?  Look what Evan does.

Drawing Collection by Maddeck

Maddeck emailed this to Kyle at work last week.
He loves to draw pictures of Evan
I found this on the table with some of his other drawings.  He loves to work on his penmanship.
They are wearing eye patches and hard fighting gloves on their hands.
 Brothers.
 Rainbow, sun, and sky.
 Another ...
 and another.
"A happy boy in the forest."
"A house in a storm.  Lighting bolts in the black sky and the wind is blowing.  The chimney has flames shooting out."
"Bad guys are throwing mud balls from the sky and the guys are shooting arrows up at them."
A page from a book he made at school.
 Drawing 1 ...
 drawing 2 duplicate.
Maddeck copied flags out of a school book and wrote the name of each country underneath.

Lunchbox

All of the boys have lunchboxes with their names on them from Uncle Pete and Auntie Sarah.  Miles loves his and carries it all over the house.  As usual, Miles has a giant bonk on his forehead in this picture. I am not sure what this bonk was from.  I think he hit his head on the wall.  Miles will be one year old in two days!!  His little life is such a blessing to us.  He is almost a full time walker and loves to throw things.  I think it is his life's purpose to throw random objects, including food and utensils.  He loves his big brothers.  When they are loud and rowdy he follows suit and copies them.  He yells and wrestles right along with them.  He always greets Kyle when he gets home from work by heading straight to the door to say hello.  If Kyle doesn't pick him up he starts to cry.  He loves his Daddy.  We look forward to what the Lord has planned for his life and thank our Creator for blessing us with Miles. We love you so much Miles Timothy.

Guess Who?

Our favorite family game is Guess Who?  Maddeck asks us to play just about every night.  It is fun to hear the questions they both come up with.

Mustache

Maddeck was wearing a sun butter (his form of peanut butter) mustache after lunch today.  I asked him to look in the mirror and then use a wipe to clean his face.  He came back a moment later with a clean face.  I asked him what he used to wipe his face and he said the curtains in my bedroom.  Sure enough, sun butter was smeared all over the white curtains.  Nice.
