Be STRONG in the Lord and the power of His might.

Our family desire is to be like a lamp on a lampstand shining forth for Christ. We pray that we can be a witness to those who don't know the Lord and an encouragement and blessing to those who do. Thank you for visiting the Strong family blog.

Anniversary at Maryhill

We bought concert tickets for our anniversary to see Alison Krauss & Union Station at this amazing place.  I have looked for tickets for years but they are hard to find and normally too expensive for our cheap taste.  If we had a bucket list for concerts Alison Krauss would be on it.  I found this place after seeing that she was going to be in San Diego in May.  I dug around online and found that she is stopping in Goldendale, Washington.  We love Goldendale!!  It was our favorite portion of the trip from Portland to Leavenworth when we were in college.  The landscape is beautiful!

Looking forward to a long drive together, lounging in the grass at the winery, eating dinner from a picnic basket, drinking wine, and listening to Lucky One with my hunnois.  We will be going strong for 11 great years in August.

10 Year Anniversary

 Hotel room tour.
 Dinner at the Wild Ginger.
 Using chop sticks correctly.
Jesica sent champagne and strawberries to our room. Yum.  It felt a little like Pretty Woman.
Waiting for our flight on Kenmore Air.  Cindi, Chris, Steve, Jesica, Keri and Adam surprised us with a scenic flight over Seattle.  It was the perfect day for a flight.  Stunningly beautiful!

 Ready for take off.
 Go Huskies!
 Bainbridge Island Ferry.
 Flying by Alki Beach.
We seemed so close to the Space Needle as we were returning to Lake Union.
 There is our hotel.
 Electric sports car.
We stayed in a junior suite on the 25th floor of the South Tower.
 Seattle Art Museum.
This coat of armor was made out of military dog tags.  It was huge and must have taken forever to build.
Handsome hubby dressed up for dinner.
 Heading to The Pink Door.

My Aunt Julie happened to arrive at the same restaurant at the same time as us to celebrate her birthday.  She sent a bottle of champagne to our table for us.  So sweet.
We look sleepy on our last morning in Seattle.
French breakfast in Post Alley.  Delish.
Touring the the Navy destroyer, Sampson.
 Seahawks Training Camp.
The linemen are huge when you can stand right next to them.
Training camp was neat.  There were camera crews, tons of coaches, tons of players, and tons of fans.  It was surprising how many people were there.  The facility was awesome and the Blue Angels were flying overhead during practice.  We didn't stick around after practice to meet the players because we wanted to get home to Evan who was home sick.  (Poor little tyke was throwing up)
Meeting Mack Strong.  Kyle was going to wear his Strong jersey but I discouraged him.  I didn't think our favorite old Seahawk would be at practice.  I also didn't think that everyone would be decked out in Seahawks apparel at practice.  Mack was signing autographs, jerseys, and footballs for everyone.  It would have been sweet to have our jersey for him to sign.

In addition to all the fun things we were able to do on our little getaway, Kyle (and Sarah) made a sweet photo book of our life together.  I love it.  It captures so many of the highlights from our 10 years together.
Kyle (with help from Sarah) also got me a little sparkle for my finger.  Three pearls for our three boys.  I am so blessed.

9

We just celebrated our 9th anniversary! My parents offered to watch all three boys so we could have an evening out. We went to Wenatchee and had some dinner, took a stroll in the park, and then topped of the evening at home with some chocolate mint oreo blizzards and some Office reruns. It was a great night and a fun way to celebrate in our low key style. Kyle is the perfect husband for me and I love our life together. All praise to our Lord who blessed us with each other and for giving us a strong foundation in Jesus Christ.
